As part of the digital effects team, Short provided several gruesome death scenes including the demise of actor Jeff Combs.

This Warner Bros. Raw Feed original DVD feature utilized Short as it's visual effects consultant and storyboard artist under the guidence of director Tony Krantz.

For the Emmy nominated NBC series “Surface” Short was given the assignment to supervise the North Carolina/on set special visual effects. After contributing to the designs of the creature named Nim, Short interfaced for 7.5 months on set with the series directors and Los Angeles based visual effects supervisor Mitch Suskin in designing the visual effects shots. Short also supervised the more complex special make-up effects throughout the series.

This year the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences invited Short to participate in their newest 4th floor museum exhibit: IT’S ALIVE; “Bringing Animatronic Characters To Life”. The interactive display of past and present industry iconic creatures showcases several of Short’s projects including “Beetlejuice”, “Predator” and “Herbie Fully Loaded”. In order to bring Herbie to life, visual effects supervisor John Van Vliet called in Short to oversee the mechanical Herbie’s performance. Working with special effects supervisor Matt Sweeney’s team of technicians he supervised and choreographed the character’s action along side the films stars Lindsay Lohan and Justin Long.
